Ronald Parris, MD

Diplomate in Anesthesiology

American Board of Anesthesiology

Dr. Ronald Parris believes that everyone deserves to live an optimal life in which there is “No Room for Pain.” He is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist who attended Morehouse College for undergraduate studies, Hahnemann University for medical school and The University of Chicago, where he completed a residency in Anesthesia and Critical Care. He demonstrated his commitment to education when he most recently completed a fellowship after already practicing medicine for several years. After working at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center as an Assistant Professor, he then elected to pursue a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine. Dr. Parris most recently joined Greater Houston Pain Consultants (GHPC), to further extend his tenured experience and advance practices in the field of Interventional Pain Management for his patients.

His practice philosophy includes forming a partnership with patients that involves education, diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic interventions. He supports a versatile treatment process for wellness to achieve the best possible results for his patients. Dr. Parris’ goal of therapy is to help the patient manage their pain in order to live a more productive and active lifestyle. Each patient under Dr. Parris’ care will be screened, counseled and educated regarding their condition.

Multimodal therapies will be initiated to reduce as much pain as possible in order to improve the patient’s overall quality of life. Dr. Parris stresses that chronic pain represents a complex problem that may benefit from physical therapy, psychotherapy, alternative medical care, and other modalities.

Dr. Parris has gained extensive experience in a range of roles as an Anesthesiologist throughout his career and is looking forward to beginning this new chapter of his life.

He has also been a contributor and collaborator in research in numerous abstracts related to the field of Pain Management and Anesthesiology. His professional society activities and membership include ASA, IARS and TSA to name a few.

Dr. Parris is a native of Philadelphia, PA. He is married with three children and he enjoys life to the fullest; and he believes his patients should also.
